HousesUnder150K.com publishes curated real estate listings and original articles on affordable housing. This page explains how we find, evaluate, and publish content — and what standards we hold ourselves to.
We monitor Realtor.com via a licensed data feed, checking six times daily across all 50 US states. We look specifically for single-family homes, condos, and small multi-family properties listed under $150,000.
Every listing is evaluated by our editorial scoring system, which considers four factors: asking price relative to market comparables, property condition based on listing details and photos, location quality and neighborhood context, and overall value and uniqueness of the opportunity. Listings that score 6 or above on a 10-point scale are published. Lower-scored listings are discarded. No listing pays to be featured — scores are determined entirely by our editorial criteria.
Each day, the highest-scoring listing from that day's review is featured as our Deal of the Day on the homepage and on its own dedicated page. This is purely score-driven — no listing can purchase or request Deal of the Day placement.
Published listings include an original narrative written to help buyers quickly understand what makes the property interesting. These narratives are written and reviewed for accuracy against the source listing data. We do not invent details, embellish condition, or omit known negatives. Where a listing has notable drawbacks, our narrative says so.
Our articles cover affordable housing markets, policy, financing, and regional trends. Articles are written by our staff writer Jordan Reyes and reviewed before publication for factual accuracy, fair representation, and relevance to our audience of first-time buyers and value-focused homebuyers.
